Dr. Jason Steffen has a bachelor's degree in Physics and Mathematics from Weber State University in Utah, and a master's and PhD in Physics from the University of Washington. He was a scientist at the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory near Chicago, a research faculty member at Northwestern University, and is now an Associate Professor of Physics at UNLV. Dr. Steffen was a member of the science team for NASA’s Kepler mission where he contributed to the discovery and characterization of hundreds of distant planets. He has worked in a variety of disciplines including dark matter, dark energy, gravitation, exoplanets, and airline passenger boarding.

Dr. April McMillan's educational background in Microbiology and Materials Science Engineering has enabled her to serve in a variety of positions across her 30+ year career. For 25 years, she worked as a researcher at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory, where, among many research topics, she worked on several carbon materials that support deep space missions. Since leaving the Laboratory, she has worked in the nonprofit sector, serving as a corporate officer with one of the nation's largest youth-serving organizations and currently serving as the National Executive Director for an honors service society for the nation's colleges and universities.
